Cat Breeds

Having searched the web for information about the more important cat breeds, I find there are some pretty nice sites out there already. They contain pictures, descriptions, show qualifications and even temperments of the individual breeds. So, rather than duplicate these, I have decided to link to them. See the links at the bottom of the page.

There is one noteable breed, however, obviously missing from all of these sites and I think I want to give a little credit to it. I'm talking about the "Barn Cat". The Barn Cat is a very old breed who in all likelyhood came over on the Mayflower with the pilgrims. These cats are/were a fixture in every barn across the America. Why they have been omitted, I do not know, an oversite perhaps. The cat ranges from small to large and comes in every color and coat length. They tend to be expert hunters although often times beg for a little fresh milk. When it comes to mothering they can't be beat. Besides raising the kittens, they also teach them the finer art of mousing thus insuring the continuation of the breed. A good mouser is a asset to any farm!

These are just a few of the many pages on Cat Breeds.
